CLASS PLACEMENT REMINDER
Students often spend 2+ years in the same level. We don't have a new level for every age-advancement is based on skill not age or time. For example, a 7-year-old may be placed in Sapphires or Emeralds depending on ability. Skills must be consistently shown and understood before moving up!

Class Placement is based on age as of November 1, 2025. Teachers may adjust class levels to best fit each dancer's needs.
Tiny Tots: ages 3-4 This class is the perfect introduction to dance for your little one! This fun and engaging class combines creative movement, basic ballet, and beginner tumbling skills in a playful environment designed just for toddlers. We'll focus on coordination, rhythm, and following directions-all while having a blast with music, props, and imaginative play! Students must be potty trained for this class.
Twinkle Toes: ages 4-5 Students will begin to learn the basic elements of ballet, tap, and creative movement: Socialization skills such as turn-taking and following instructions will be emphasized. The young children will explore movement qualities, musicality, practice gross motor coordination and work on simple locomotion, enhancing the development of both their bodies and their minds! Students must be potty trained for this class.
Rubies Combo Dance: Ages 5-7 (Must be in Kindergarten or older) Sapphires Combo Dance: Ages 7-8 (Must take Rubies before this class) Emeralds: Ages 8-10 (If 8 must take Sapphires before this class) In this class, students will work on ballet and tap. Ballet positions, as well as basic ballet vocabulary are taught along with floor exercises, simple steps and correct posture. A greater emphasis on musicality and rhythm is encouraged. Tap will build upon basic steps and rhythms. Levels will be modified.
PreTeen and Teen combo Dance: ages10+ This class focuses on tap, ballet, and jazz techniques. This class blends technique, strength building, stability, and core conditioning designed for a beginner/intermediate level dancer.
*Junior and Senior Combo Dance: Placement only A dance combo class for students who want to be pushed beyond thier level. Intermediate skills, who are looking to perfect their all-around technique. Students will focus on flexibility and strength, moving towards more complex combinations. Students will continue to work on core tap skills, terminology and placement in ballet and strengthening skills in jazz.
* Senior Elite and Advanced Dance: placement only
Stretch, Technique & Strength 1: Ages 9+ and level 2 13+ this class is a form of dance integrating ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary dance technique. Classes focus on developing strong rhythmic connections, isolation's and levels. This class will also strength train with weights, bands or body weight. Must have previous dance experience. Must be enrolled in a Dance Combo Class.
Musical Theatre 1: Ages 6-9 Beginner, Musical Theatre 2: Ages 9+ Intermediate, Musical Theatre 3: Ages 13+ Advanced. A dance class that places an emphasis on storytelling through movement. This class begins with a jazz-based warm up and across the floor to provide the students with a jazz based vocabulary and moves into acting exercises and activities to develop the tools to effectively storytell through the body and performance. A culminating combination will be taught at the end of class that includes technique learned while telling a story with movement. Music will be used from both classic and contemporary musicals to introduce dancers to different styles of musical theater dance.
*PrePointe: Ages 12+ is an intermediate to advanced level class that is for students with a strong technical foundation. The curriculum is built with the knowledge that the students understand the structure of ballet, ballet terminology, and etiquette. This class allows students to grow their ballet technique with a deeper understanding of movement and how it works within the anatomical structure of the body. The students will explore intricate center work, expansive across the floor movement, and petit allegro. Individual and group critiques will be provided where the students are expected to apply them. Must have 4 years of ballet and enrolled in a dance combo class with teachers approval.
*Pointe: ages 13+ Must be approved by Pre-Pointe teacher. All Pointe students must take PrePointe.
Tiny Tumblers: ages 4-5 Pike Position, Skipping, Marching, Pre Cartwheel, Plié, Tendu, etc. The focus of this program includes learning the acro positions, locomotive skills (jumping, hoping, etc), balance skills, classroom behavior skills, movement concepts, cooperation and social skills. Students must be potty trained.
***Acro levels 1-5: Ask teachers for appropriate placement (we will move up or down after evaluation) Placement based on indivduel exam. If a student is moved up a level and can not make a class due to time, we will always work at their level. These levels are different than last year. If you have a good idea what your child can do, you can register them without asking.
Acro 1 ages 5+ (5 year olds must take Tiny Tumblers first) Skills to accomplish: basic floor work such as forward pike roll, handstands, bridges, cartwheels, round-offs and more.
Acro 2 ages 6+ Skills to accomplish: basic techniques such as cartwheels & round-offs (right and left), hand stands, bridge kickovers, standing backbend, handstand to bridge and more. kickovers when ready.
*Acro 3 ages 6+ Skills to accomplish: backward roll, backbend kickover, cartwheel from one knee, limbers, walkovers and more.
*Acro 4 ages 6+ skills to accomplish: kickovers, walkovers, front handsprings, spotting aerials and back handsprings when ready.
*Acro 5 ages 8+ skills to accomplish: must have already had backhand spring and aerial spotting experience and know how to do front and back walkovers with clean technique.
*Advanced ages 10+ skills to accomplish: 3 standing back handsprings, front ariels, tucks, layouts, and many more challenging skills.
Open Tumbling: ages 8+ Must have a backbend kickover. Class consists of conditioning and warmup together followed by open gym style practice to master skills students have already learned in their respective tumbling classes. Must be enrolled in an Acro class.
Aerial Fusion 1-Silks & Hoops: beginner ages 5-8 A beginner-friendly class focuses on building strength, mobilty, and foundational skills in both aerial silks and hoops. Learn basic mounts, poses, and intro drops. A great starting point for new aerialists!
Aerial Fusion 2-Silks & Hoops: Intermediate ages 7-10 Students who have masterd the basics and are ready to progress. Silks will focus on climbs, wraps, and smooth transitions. Hoops will introduce spinning, transitioning through shapes, and working in and under the bar.
Aerial Fusion 3-Silks & Hoops: Intermediate/Advanced 9+ This Silks class is for students who are ready to invert aerially and learn more complex sequencing, strength-based moves, and more complicated drops, along with intricate poses and fluid transitions on the hoop.
Mini Hip-hop/Jazz: ages 4-6 This 30 minute class is a great way to get your kids moving. This style is performed with upbeat music and high energy. If your child is interested in trying out dance for the first time and wants a less formal atmosphere, this is the class you’re looking for! Introduction to jazz. No previous dance experience needed.
Pre Hip-Hop/Jazz: ages 6-9 This 30 minute class is the next step from Mini Hip Hop/Jazz. This style is performed with upbeat music and high energy. This beginner level class teaches students how to coordinate strong movements with popular music. If your child is interested in trying out dance for the first time and wants a less formal atmosphere, this is the class you’re looking for! Introduction to jazz. No previous dance experience needed.
Jr. Hip-Hop: ages 9+ This high-energy street style dance has been sought after by students who want to learn the latest hip-hop trends. Elements include proper conditioning and warm-up, individualized dance steps and full bodied combinations. Dancers LOVE learning these expressive dance steps while dancing to their favorite pop songs. Beginner/Intermediate level
*Advanced Hip-Hop: ages 13+ As students become more confident in their abilities, this class will challenge them to pick up choreography at a faster pace introducing faster and more complex moves and grooves. Students are encouraged to discover their individuality through movement. They will continue to build a repertoire of steps and movements. Floor work and footwork will become more complex. Advanced Hip-Hop is for the dancer who wants to be more challenged through faster and more complex combinations and is a fun, athletic, and high energy class!
Mini Cheer: ages 4-6 Beginner cheers, jumps, kicks, builds, and tumbling at thier level. This class is fun, energetic and a great way to introduce cheerleading.
Pre Cheer: ages 6-10 This class is an introduction to cheers, motions, dance, jumps, kicks, voice projection, builds and tumbling at their level. This class is fun, energetic and a great way to introduce cheerleading.
Cheer/Tumble prep: ages 9+ This class is specifically designed for students 10 years old and up, who are wanting to tryout for a School team and want to master all elements of a Cheer Tryout. This class incorporates Jumps, Tumbling, Motion/Dance Technique and Tryout Presentation.
Contemporary & Tricks 1: ages 9-12 and level 2 ages 13+ Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. And will also learn skills that add a dynamic wow-factor to their performances through tricks. Taking a combo class is recomended.
Latin Dance 1: ages 7-11 Latin Dance 2: ages 12+ Students will learn the basics of several traditional Latin dances including Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and Samba. Students will learn both partner combinations as well as solo combinations. Students will also learn the history and origin behind each style of dance. Must have a dance background.
Nexstars Dance Team practice: Mandatory class for all students who make the team. This will be dedicated to learn, clean, and perfect routines for performances. We will work on teamwork, stage presence, and technique. Attendance is essential!
