dress code

Thank you for looking into our dress code. At Dance Variations, we strive for professionalism and training of the whole person. Our dress code assists in setting an environment of excellence in our everyday studio culture. Please see the respective classes below.

We have ballet, tap,  jazz and turner shoes for sale at the dance studio. 

Note: Please place your name in ALL shoes. If your child cannot tie their own shoes please get velcro or zipup tennis shoes. Hair must be secured back and no jewelry.

Tippy Toes: We welcome any color of leotard, tights, skirts or shorts, and require pink ballet shoes.

Twinkle Toes,  Rubies:  We welcome any color of leotard, tights, skirts or shorts, and require pink ballet and tan buckled tap shoes. 

Sapphires, Emeralds, PreTeen/Teen, Juniors/Seniors, Senior Elite/Adv. Dance: We welcome any color leotard and tights but they may wear leggings, shorts, crop tops, tighter athletic wear, etc. – no loose-fitting t-shirts or street clothes; we require pink ballet, tan boot tap and tan jazz shoes (if they have jazz in thier class)

Pre-Pointe/Pointe: Leotard, tights, pink ballet shoes or point shoes, and hair secured tightly back. Failure to abide by dress code after first warning will result in student being asked to sit out of class.

AcroDance Preschool, Acro, Contortion: Leotard or crop top, shorts or leggings. Barefoot

All Cheer classes: Dancewear of different varieties such as but not limited to: crop tops, leggings, shorts, tighter athletic wear, etc. – no loose-fitting t-shirts or street clothes; white tennis shoes will be worn.

Stretch and Technique: Dancewear of different varieties such as but not limited to: crop tops, leggings, booty shorts, tighter athletic wear, etc. – no loose-fitting t-shirts or street clothes; jazz shoes required but may wear turners or contemporary socks. 

All  HipHop classes: Dancewear of different varieties such as but not limited to: crop tops, leggings, spanx, tighter athletic wear, etc. – no loose-fitting t-shirts or street clothes; Flat soled tennis shoes will be worn in these classes. 

 Lyrical/Contemporary:  Dancewear of different varieties such as but not limited to: crop tops, leggings, booty shorts, tighter athletic wear, etc. – no loose-fitting t-shirts or street clothes; jazz shoes required but may wear turners or contemporary socks. 

Musical Theatre: Dancewear of different variaties. Jazz shoes.

Strength and conditioning: Dancewear of different varieties. Jazz shoes.

Dance Team Prep: Dancewear of different varieties such as but not limited to: crop tops, leggings, booty shorts, tighter athletic wear, etc. – no loose-fitting t-shirts or street clothes; Jazz shoes.

Latin Dance: Dancewear of different varieties. Ballroom shoe (request shoe link)

Silks: leggings and tank top; no shoes

Please only wear dance shoes and tennis shoes at the studio, must be new, no street shoes on the dance floors.   

Boys may wear T-shirt, shorts and required shoes.
